Luisa Conte, RMIT
Luisa Conte is an Italian certified translator and interpreter with a Master of Translating and Interpreting from RMIT University in Melbourne. She is a lecturer and research assistant in the School of Global, Urban and Social Studies at RMIT. She is also an interpreter for Austin Health, collaborates with the National Accreditation Authority for Translators and Interpreters and translates as a freelancer.
She has presented in national and international conferences on the themes of ethics, legal translation and the relevance of dialects in translating.
Knowledge of:
the specific characteristics of Community Interpreting, including modes of interpreting, ethical dilemmas and professional behaviours.
Skills to:
face the challenges of community interpreting, including use of discourse management and interpersonal relationships.
A Certificate will be issued upon completion of the course. Learners will be eligible to 10 PD points towards recertification (Section 1.4 of NAATI Recertification PD Catalogue).
