All Graduates is committed to customer focused services and as a part of our services to DHS (Centrelink and Medicare) we are also committed to ensure that out interpreters are skilled, competent, work ready and are supported in undertaking interpreting at DHS Service Centers as Sessional Interpreters.
In this end, All Graduates has partnered with RMIT University to prepare a series webinar specifically to support and up skill interpreters.
All Graduates will give priority for allocation/offer bookings to interpreters who register and attend these webinars.
Dr Miranda Lai
Dr Miranda Lai is a lecturer in interpreting and translating studies at the Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology (RMIT University). Her research interests include ethics for interpreters and translators, public service interpreting and translating, police interviewing in bilingual settings. She has delivered training in Australia and overseas, and she is the co-author of Ethics for Police Translators and Interpreters (2017).
Fatih Karakas, MSocSc(Trans&InterpSt)
Fatih Karakas is the Trainer and Training & PD Coordinator at All Graduates. He is also a lecturer in the Translating and Interpreting Program at the Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology University where he also completed his Masters in Translation and Interpreting. He teaches both at Vocational and Higher Education levels and has delivered training in other states across the country for RMIT University and AUSIT. He is particularly interested in teaching interpreting skills as well as ethics and professionalism with a focus on providing non-language specific training via online Learning Management Systems. Fatih is also a NAATI certified interpreter and translator (Turkish-English) specialising in legal and healthcare interpreting.
This webinar falls under NAATI PD Category 2.20 (10 Points).
All Graduates will issue a certificate of attendance where you join the live session.
(If you watch the recording via the All Graduates interpreter mobile app, we will not issue a certificate however you may check with NAATI what may be required from you to be eligible for points without a certificate).
This PD is available only to the All Graduates panel of interpreters/translators/clients.
