The Centre for Cultural Diversity in Ageing and All Graduates have collaborated through "Conversations: Interpreting and Translating" to provide training for interpreters and translators through a series of Aged Care webinars in 2021. The series consists of 5 parts and includes collaborations with other Aged Care organisations.  

The fifth and final webinar in the series is in collaboration with the Southern Metro region Palliative Care Consortium.

Jane Newbound - Aged Care Project Manager, Southern Metropolitan Region Palliative Care Consortium

Jane Newbound is a Registered Nurse with 40 years of health experience. For the last 20 years, Jane has worked in the aged care sector as a nurse, manager and as a Commonwealth Nursing Officer.

For the last 8 years Jane has worked as the Aged Care Project Manager for two of Melbourne’s palliative care consortium, providing education and support to aged care facilities in palliative care.

Jane Newbound RN, RM, Graduate Diploma in Psychological Studies, Graduate Diploma in Loss and Grief Counselling.


Fatih Karakas, MSocSc(Trans&InterpSt)

Fatih Karakas is the Trainer and Training & PD Coordinator at All Graduates. He is also a lecturer in the Translating and Interpreting Program at the Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology University where he also completed his Masters in Translation and Interpreting. He teaches both at Vocational and Higher Education levels and has delivered training in other states across the country for RMIT University and AUSIT. He is particularly interested in teaching interpreting skills as well as ethics and professionalism with a focus on providing non-language specific training via online Learning Management Systems. Fatih is also a NAATI certified interpreter and translator (Turkish-English) specialising in legal and healthcare interpreting. 



PD Logbook

All Graduates will issue a certificate of attendance where you join the full duration of the live broadcast. Participants will be eligible to 10 PD points towards recertification (Section 1.4 of NAATI Recertification PD Catalogue). Some webinars may attract PD points from multiple categories. Please choose the most appropriate category for your recertification.

(If you watch the recording, we will not issue a certificate however you may check with NAATI what may be required from you to be eligible for points without a certificate).
